Since qualifying as a solicitor in 2005, Mike has specialised in property disputes and now heads the team. His experience encompasses the full spectrum of property disputes work.
Leasehold property
Mike acts for landlords and tenants in commercial and residential leasehold matters, regularly advising on the interpretation of residential and commercial leases, with a loyal following of clients in Bath, Bristol and beyond.
He has developed a particular interest in the law relating to residential long leases, including collective enfranchisement, lease extensions, and the Right to Manage.
Freehold property rights
Another principal area of interest is freehold property rights, assisting landowners with problems concerning rights of way, adverse possession, and determining the true position of the legal boundary.
Mike has also acted many times in disputes between co-owners of jointly owned property.
In recent years, Mike has also seen rising interest in claims involving invasive bamboo and Japanese Knotweed. Check out his articles Japanese Knotweed Claims and Bamboo and the Law UK.
