Cosmetic Surgery Claims
Your decision to undergo cosmetic surgery or a similar procedure is never taken lightly and as a patient you place huge trust in the clinician’s qualifications, experience, skill and judgement. Accordingly, when the results are not as expected, or if the procedure has gone wrong, it is invariably extremely distressing for you. In such a situation, both revision surgery and counselling may be required at significant cost to you. You may have also incurred other financial losses, including lost earnings.
“Thank you, you’ve helped me so much. I really couldn’t have seen this to the end without your constant support and encouraging words.” MF, August 2018
Whilst procedures undertaken by the very best qualified plastic and cosmetic surgeons can and do go wrong, seeking a properly qualified and experienced professional will reduce the prospect of a negative outcome. Many people do not realise that a significant proportion of cosmetic procedures are performed by people who do not have the necessary qualifications and experience.
Although the vast majority of cosmetic procedures take place in the private sector, the NHS offer excellent advice on identifying an appropriately qualified surgeon – follow this link.
Specialist
Specialist medical negligence solicitor, David Gazzard, has over 25 years’ experience in maximising the compensation recovered by people unhappy with the outcome of cosmetic procedures.
“I was very nervous about discussing the surgery which I found deeply embarrassing. However, David quickly reassured me and put me at my ease. He was very sympathetic and easy to talk to as well as very positive from the outset about a successful result. I’m very pleased I found him and will recommend him whenever I can.” JT, February 2018
Recent Cosmetic Surgery Claims
David’s recent successful claims have included representing clients who underwent:
- facial chemical peels for acne scarring and as a result of inadequate assessment of skin-type the patient suffered hyper and hypo pigmentation;
- a nose reshaping (rhinoplasty) which was performed poorly and resulted in sinus problems;
- a breast augmentation which was not only cosmetically wholly unsatisfactory, but where nerve damage was caused;
- a facelift where nerve damage was caused.
“I would recommend David Gazzard who is excellent and secured compensation for me when my nose reshaping went badly wrong and I required three more operations.” TG, October 2017
